Sinajana is the smallest of Guam’s nineteen villages. It is located south of Hagåtña, in the center of the island. It convenient to both Naval Base Guam and Andersen Air Force Base. Only about 3,000 people live in Sinajana. The village is perched on a hilltop between Agana Heights and Agana Springs. Sinajana has become quite urbanized over the years, though at one time it was known as the coffee capital of Guam.
Due to its small size, there aren’t many points of interest in Sinajana, but there are remnants of the village’s past around every corner. Much of Sinajana was destroyed in 1962 by Supertyphoon Karen. On the site of the old Won Pat Store, a Spanish oven called a hotnu still sits in the yard. Butler’s Emporium, the oldest continuing business on Guam, sits next to the old Coca-Cola factory.
